Did you know?

Recently, members of ITI were recognized for making a difference at the University of Iowa.

Hosin "David" Lee, a professor of civil and environmental engineering and an ITI faculty affiliate, was nominated for the Student Supervisor of the Year Award by an undergraduate research assistant in the Laboratory for Advanced Construction Technology. Lee, who has been in the College of Engineering since 1999, was commended for mentorship and dedication to helping student employees mature for their professional lives ahead.

"Professor Lee has provided continual and helpful training to myself and my peers during these past three years," according to nomination papers. "He has gone out of his way in helping students understand material for courses... Words cannot express enough thanks and gratitude on behalf of myself and immediate family," according to the nomination papers."

Undergraduate Cory Tays was recognized for his contributions on the ITI marketing and communications team, earning nomination for the Student Employee of the Year. Tays has been with ITI for two years.

"Cory has exhibited the highest level of professionalism and respectfulness working with everyone from faculty, staff, and students," the nomination papers state. "Cory blends a diversity of skills that makes him a true asset to ITI."

The award program was organized by the Pomerantz Career Center.

Positive contributions from faculty, staff, and students make the University of Iowa what it is, but we don't always realize when what we do makes an impact. Take a minute to let those you work with know the positive difference they are making!
